The evening practice is built around letting go

After a morning of dynamic flow and an afternoon on the cobbled mountain trails of the Tramuntana, the evening session is designed to meet you exactly where you land. The arc moves through Yin yoga, restorative postures, Yoga Nidra, and sound healing, in that order, and the sequence is deliberate. Yin works into the connective tissue with long, supported holds. Restorative postures take that further, inviting the nervous system to downshift. Yoga Nidra, sometimes called yogic sleep, guides you into a state between waking and sleep where the body repairs and the mind releases its grip. The sound healing, played on singing bowls and other instruments, closes the session in a way that feels less like an ending and more like a settling. You don't need to do anything. That's the point.

No performance, no prior experience required

The morning class draws on Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha traditions and moves with more energy, but it is still adapted to the group in the room. The evening practices ask even less of you physically. Sound healing, in particular, requires nothing more than lying down. Research shows that sound bath sessions can shift brainwave activity from the active beta state toward the more relaxed alpha and theta states, which is part of why they feel so effective even for people who have never meditated before. Lisa leads every session herself, and with a maximum of eight participants, the group is small enough that she can read the room and adjust in real time. If you've never done yoga, that's fine. If you've been practising for years, there's still depth here.

The setting is not incidental to the practice

The retreat house in Fornalutx sits inside the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape of limestone ridges, ancient olive groves, and dry stone terraces that have been tended for centuries. The rooftop yoga studio looks out over this landscape. By the time the evening session begins, the light has gone amber and the mountains have gone quiet. That specific quality of stillness, the kind you find at dusk in a stone village above the Sóller Valley, is not something you can replicate in a city studio. It becomes part of the practice. The sound bowls resonate differently when the room itself is calm, and the room is calm because of where it sits.

Fornalutx sits at the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that runs the full length of Mallorca's northwest coast and holds UNESCO World Heritage status. The village is surrounded by ancient olive groves, cobbled mule trails, and limestone ridges that drop toward the Mediterranean. By evening, after a day on those trails, the landscape settles into a particular kind of quiet that makes it one of the most natural places in Europe to practice restorative yoga and sound healing.

Benefits

Intimate groups of eight

Every session, morning and evening, is capped at eight participants. That's not a policy detail, it's what makes the experience feel personal rather than performative. Lisa can see everyone in the room and adjust accordingly.

Sessions shaped around your group

The programme is adapted to the level and needs of the people who actually show up. Whether the group skews toward beginners or more experienced practitioners, the pace and depth of each session shifts to match, so no one is left behind or under-challenged.

A UNESCO landscape as your backdrop

The rooftop studio looks out over the Tramuntana mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The quality of stillness you find at dusk in a stone village above the Sóller Valley is not something you can replicate elsewhere, and it becomes part of the practice itself.

Movement and rest, fully integrated

The five-day programme pairs dynamic morning yoga with restorative evenings, guided mountain hikes, and chef-cooked vegetarian meals made from local, organic, and seasonal ingredients. Nothing is bolted on. The whole retreat is designed to work as one.

Common questions about sound bath sessions in Mallorca

Do I need yoga experience to take part in the evening sessions?

No experience is needed. The evening practices, Yin yoga, restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, and sound healing, are accessible to complete beginners and require no physical strength or flexibility. Lisa adapts every session to the group in the room, so you will never be asked to do something beyond your level.

What instruments are used in the sound bath?

Sound healing sessions typically use instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and tuning forks. The vibrations from these instruments are what guide the nervous system toward a more restful state. You simply lie down and receive the sound.

Is the evening session mandatory, or can I skip it?

The retreat is designed as an integrated five-day programme, and the evening practices are a core part of how it works: they balance the physical activity of the morning yoga and afternoon hikes. That said, Nourish keeps the environment warm and non-pressured, and the small group size means there is always room for honest conversation about what you need.

What should I bring or wear to the evening sessions?

Wear something loose and comfortable that you can lie still in for an extended period. The evening sessions are restorative, so you will spend much of the time on your mat. Bringing a light layer is sensible, as the body cools quickly when you are still, especially in a mountain setting after sunset.
